A new Statistics Canada study reveals that despite fears of mega-corporations taking over, large institutional investors are mostly absent from the single-family housing market, owning less than 0.4% of homes. Instead, small-scale local investors with five or fewer properties still own the vast majority of Canada's rental stock.
